ALEXANDER C. MCLEAN

ACTIVE RELEASE TECHNIQUES
SPORTS MASSAGE THERAPY

A unique approach to wellness

As a massage therapist, Alexander Mclean integrates Active Release Techniques (ART), sports massage, tools such as myofascial cupping and IASTM (fascia scraping), combining with bio-mechanical assessment techniques like FMS and SFMA.

By mobilizing the soft tissue (skin, muscles, tendons, ligaments, nerves and fascia) with very specific combinations of pressure, tension and movement we can quickly and efficiently treat tension, muscle pain, nerve pain (sciatica, carpal tunnel) and inflammatory pathologies such as tendonitis, capsulitis, bursitis and fasciitis, by re-establishing proper biomechanics.

The goal is not only to treat injuries, but also work towards preventing them and optimizing posture and performance.

This approach is for everyone, from high level athletes to weekend warriors, children or anyone striving to enjoy being active.

Alexander C. Mclean

Massage Therapist

Beginning his career in 1992 as a physiotherapy assistant at the Centre de Physiothérapie Brossard, Alexander Charles Mclean then went on to train as a massage therapist in order to pursue Active Release Techniques.

Over the last 22 years, drawing from various techniques of manual therapy like deep tissue massage and Rolfing, he has come to develop his own approach combining sports massage and Active Release Techniques (ART).

Using his skills both in the clinical setting and out in the field, he has quickly become a reference in competitive sports working with both professionals and amateurs in sports such as dragon boat, golf, triathlon, bodybuilding, powerlifting, Crossfit, soccer, football and hockey.

As a therapist for Dragon Boat Canada, he accompanied Team Canada in Hungary and Niagara for the 2013 & 2015 IDBF world championships. Alexander has also provided treatments for the athletes during the Canadian Ironman races at Mont-Tremblant from 2012 to 2017, during Crossfit and powerlifting events and for the RedBull Crashed Ice in Ottawa.

Alex is the best physiotherapist/ massage therapist I have ever met. He is first after many that was able to actually help me. I had pain for the last 13 years with my hip and lower back. I could never sit comfortably.
After one visit I noticed a difference the same day.
He is very knowledgeable and makes sure you feel at home and comfortable.
Great price, Worth every penny
